Accomplishments

As a Police Officer

· Performed a demonstration on trailing dog capabilities to DCP OPS in 2021

· Covering Office hour duties during K-9 quarantine period (16 – 31 Jan 2021)

· Hosted dog shows and demonstrations as Emcee for the K-9 unit

· Conducted physical training and planned training sessions for the Team as Physical training instructor

· Attended bi – annual medic orderly refresher course. Standby medic for fire alarm drills and training sessions conducted in K-9

· Took part in annual Inter-SOC Volleyball tournaments and achieved 2nd runner up

· Conducted research and tested new dog training equipment that will be most suitable for the unit. Procured the equipment successfully for the unit for the next 2 years.

· Continues to conduct research on the dog training portion of the unit to improve our capabilities and standards to match up with our overseas counterparts.

· Liaised with SOTC on the use of firearms to incorporate the safety standards in our dog training.

· Conducted the first annual internal audit for the K-9 unit prior to the annual SOC audit.

· Went on to join the SOC fixed assets team to conduct audit on other units in SPF

· Appointed adjunct trainer to assist trainers and learn more about dog training capabilities. Occasionally, to conduct dog training for the team and refresher course when needed

· Nominated into the LEAP program 2020 to learn and take up more projects to improve self and the unit capabilities

· Conducted research and liaised with SOTC to standardized BRV equipment for all PPD handlers in accordance with different situations

· Revamped the old Kennel and Training safety video to keep all handlers updated on the latest safety protocols for dog training

· Liaised with K-9 welfare unit to promptly collate and distribute welfare items to CCK base officers

· Helped to organise and set up the SPF Ultimate frisbee team along with officers from the other units. Taught all officers how to play the game as he has represented the nation and played the sport for the past 12 years

· Did an educational talk on trailing dog and its capabilities via video which is used to educate other units and divisions

· Was Operations in charge of SOC Family Day for K-9 unit that ensured officers had no issues with their staycations

· Took a 5 Week NDD course for the first 2 weeks as part of the Adjunct Trainer Program

· 2nd IC for K-9 during the PAP Awards and Ceremony 2022. Ensured K-9 EDD team has a proper rest area and ops route to the different points when activated by GRF.

· Involved in Sungei Tengah lodge Dorm Ops with CCK Npc on 8 Dec 2022

· Completed Robotic Process Automation course on 18 & 19 January 2023 and presented the learning points in SOC Manpower meeting to commander on 11 May 2023

· Involved in Thaipusam Ops February 2023 with the Home Team Volunteers

· K-9 liaison for PSA Track & Field who managed officers from the unit to ensure they are prepared for their own events.

· In December 2022, volunteered to take an additional PPD dog as part of my own learning cycle as an adjunct trainer. This dog has a behaviour issue when it comes to his reward. The aim was to correct the behaviour so that the dog can perform better in its basic capabilities.

· Permanent Secretary Public Security Demo on 25th April for K-9 bite work portion as baiter.

· US Embassy ops for Public Security – was the decoy for PS Dog team hidden inside the embassy.

· Solely designed the K-9 PSA Sports Jersey and Pants for the unit in 2023.

· Conducted 5 weeks NDD course from 30th May to 1st July 2022 for 4 Participants as an Adjunct Trainer

· Conducted NDD Refresher training from 19th Sept to 23rd Sept 2022 for officers as an Adjunct Trainer

· Conducted NDD Refresher training from 18th Dec to 2nd Dec 2023 for officers as an Adjunct Trainer

· Conducted NDD Refresher training from 8th Jan to 12th Jan 2024 for officers as an Adjunct Trainer

· Traveled to Germany to work with the German Police Dog School to learn more about advanced trailing dogs from 5th to 18th Nov 2023


Operational Excellence

· 2022 Positive case for TD

A case of complainant informed that his brother holding a knife and said he wanted to kill their mother. A 15 cm long knife with a pair of scissors were found at scene. TD ‘Bubble’ led officers to where the subject took a bus and left scene.

· 2023 Positive case for TD

· Case of driver believed to be drunk and fled on foot upon police arrival. TD ‘Bubble’ led officers towards a block near subject’s house where POLCAM captured subject with a friend. Police managed to identify the friend, and this led to the arrest of the subject.
