• In March, I completed an extraordinary 13-day service learning expedition to Chiang Mai under National Youth Council Singapore -Youth Corps Singapore - Youth Expedition Project. This project centred in Northern Thailand’s mountainous province of Mae Tho, home to Karen and Hmong tribes
• We immersed ourselves in a range of activities from sustainable farming, conducting English lessons and Character-building games, to renovating the village communal hall, mixing cement and painting. We also conducted a recycling and craft educational program, imparting knowledge and fostering sustainable practices in hill tribe community.
• In Singapore, we worked closely with MINDS, a social service agency serving people of intellectual disability. Up to date, we have conducted 2 workshops, Hands On and Mid-Autumn.
• Hands On: Is a workshop structured specifically to the needs of people of intellectual disability by focusing on creative and sensory activities. The aim was to encourage active participation through simple and accessible task such as art and crafts and interactive games.
• Mid-Autumn: This workshop revolved around celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival. Activities were tailored to be inclusive and accessible for individuals with intellectual disabilities, emphasising fun and cultural learning.
