The Theatre Council is a fully student led council that deals with the behind the scenes of planning theatrical plays. From choosing the script to recruiting performers and marketing the play, the Theatre Council deals with all backstage decisions and equips new performers with the skills needed to effectively carry out their role. Being a Senior Council, I led in the creating and directing of two plays named the Grimm Brothers Spectaculathon and Living with Lady Macbeth. Both of the plays were a massive success, which helped elevate the Theatre Council’s reputation and revive the traction of the Arts in my school.
“See a need and fill it!”, a mantra that led me to co-found a student-led volunteer program that strives to alleviate the stresses students face during studying and revising for exams. We created a student-friendly website for all Grades to easily navigate. I aided in the creation of the website and wrote handwritten notes, equipped with formulas, key rules and exam tips for each topic. The website also includes topical quizzes, past papers, answer keys and videoed step-by-step workings for visual learners. With the website carefully created and improved over months with the help of surveys and feedback, the Math Mentoring Sourcing Notes Project was very well received by the entire school population.
Combined with the 2-hour training and key tactics of tennis, I practised tennis with other recreational tennis players and played competitive games with one another every week. Having shown large improvement and potential in tennis, I was encouraged and promoted to practice and play with the tennis players who were on the school team.
