Summary

Teaching responsibilities include: I have taught IB DP History, TOK, Middle Years Programme Individuals and Societies, AP World History, World History, US History, Psychology, Economics, and Spanish I & II instructor. Implemented MYP I & S, assessed department needs, and coordinated curriculum needs to the administration. I was coordinator for extended essays, and designed and developed lessons and units using thematic teaching and trade books. I Implemented strategies to facilitate different learning styles, while promoting multicultural awareness and acceptance. I developed alternate assessment techniques for authentic evaluation of individual progress. I created a classroom environment that encourages student participation and discourages distracting behavior. I organized field trips to correspond with the curriculum, facilitating open lines of communication with family members to inform them about student performance and future lessons, tests, homework, projects, and reports. Finally, I implemented individual education plans.

Professional involvement includes: I fully implemented the DP group 3 department including course selection and a five-year strategic plan, full implementation of MYP Individuals and Societies course, Council of International Schools (CIS) Accreditation action team leader, and organized international tournaments of Academic Games competition hosted at our school. I organized and managed Student Council events with the local community. I ordered equipment for Academic Games and organized orders for senior uniforms. I was a committee member for new overseas teacher orientation, and leader of professional development workshops leading the following sessions:
