Initially interested in forensic science, my participation in NPCC led me to explore the mechanical aspect through engineering subjects. However, my curiosity about biological progress and human processes inspired me to pursue Biomedical Science. Alongside, I tutored students, offering after-class sessions during secondary school and continued teaching primary school science online during the pandemic. My broad passion for science deepened upon reading "The Brain that Changes Itself" by Norman Doidge, which sparked an interest in Neuroscience. This interest led me to an internship interview with NTU-LKC and subsequently to the Lo & Zeng Research Team. Despite lacking prior knowledge of Neuroscience, I overcame challenges to contribute actively to the team's understanding of brain degeneration. Through article readings and experimental participation, I gained insights into neurological disorders. Now, leading our FYP in NTU, I am certain of my desire to study Neuroscience, focusing on neurodegeneration and under-developed or acutely disrupted states. These experiences will guide me towards targeted therapeutic advancements.
