• Analytical thinking

Being able to systematically dissect a problem, scenario or even a task has always been a skill I pride myself on Breaking down a big mission into bite sized tasks and allocating it to my groupmates according to difficulty, expertise and priority has always been my role during group projects as it allows for a much more efficient work process This skill is especially sharpened during my time in English Debating as I took on the challenge of explaining certain difficult or complicated concepts by breaking the arguments and theories down into smaller parts to allow for easier understanding

• Leadership

My motto in leadership has always been "To lead, is to serve and to overcome" This was nurtured by experiences during my academic years where I was the president of my Debate Club during both Secondary School and Junior College as well as during National Service where I was a Section commander taking care of 16 men under me Instead of only giving orders and instructions, I believe that a leader needs first ensure that the people are taken care of and take initiative to ensure that the people under you get what they deserve In times of difficulty where your team members are demoralized, the leader needs to be ready to be the first to try something new, to make sacrifices for the team and go beyond limits

• Problem resolution

In a professional setting while encountering a problem, my priority would always to be resolve the issue at hand and allow the daily operations to carry on first After the day ends, I will then initiate or suggest to the team leader my ideas to improve upon the system to avoid similar occurrences of the problem in the future If the nature of the issue is interpersonal and emotional, I will then initiate a conversation with the people involved and try to reach a compromise

• Friendly, positive attitude

Being sociable and optimistic has always been one of my biggest qualities In face of a new environment, my first reaction would be to familiarize myself to the environment and the people around me When welcoming a new member, I will also take initiative in helping the new member to adapt to the new environment in a pace they are comfortable with while not compromising on work that is to be done The optimism comes in when problems are encountered and I will actively seek out solutions to the problem at hand
