Dr. Ashley Tong Hui Hui

As a lecturer in Curtin University's School of Accounting, Ashley has over a decade of teaching experience in higher education. Before joining Curtin Singapore in early 2020, she spent seven years teaching in Malaysia. Currently, Ashley is responsible for teaching various accounting and finance units, such as Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Complex Corporate Issues, Accounting for Corporations, Accounting, Behaviour and Control, Company Accounting, Financial Management, Financial Decision Making, and Introduction to Finance Principles.

In her current role, Ashley is responsible for facilitating teaching and learning in university programs at the Bachelor and Postgraduate levels. Her responsibilities include preparing and delivering coursework materials, liaising with unit coordinators, supporting student development, and providing administrative and academic support duties. She is also an academic leader in the field of expertise, with a high satisfactory rate in student evaluation.

Ashley is also actively engaged in the research fields that are relevant to her expertise. Her thesis explored the personality traits of top management, particularly narcissism, and its impact on the financial performance of listed companies. She has published in the Journal of Management and Governance and serves as the international advisory board member for a journal. Additionally, Ashley is a member of the board of directors of an entrepreneurial association in Malaysia. Her research interests include behavioral corporate finance, economics behavior and psychology, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and corporate governance.
