With over three years of experience as an R&D Scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, I lead the verification and validation activities for qPCR and gel electrophoresis devices, ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of the products. I have worked closely with the China team in support for NMPA registration.
As a PhD holder and with previous research experience in Cancer and Stem Cell Biology for 8 years, I have a strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, and breast cancer research. I have published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals, presented my findings at international and local conferences, and collaborated with senior scientists in writing a review paper. I am passionate about improving the quality of life through research and development, and I seek to apply my skills and knowledge in innovative and impactful projects.
• Experience with mouse colony breeding, genotyping, harvesting of mouse organs, histology, and H&E staining.
• Experience with primary cells isolation for in vitro experiments eg. Tail-tip fibroblast, peritoneal macrophages, and bone marrow-derived macrophages.
• Successfully assisted post-doc in writing, generating experiment data to secure 150K fellowship.
• Present scientific findings orally in the 8th international p63 & p73 workshop 2018 in Germany and poster presentations at several local conferences such as Frontiers in Cancer Science.
• Participate actively in lab meetings by providing suggestions, troubleshooting, and sharing knowledge acquired in previous working experiences and classes.
• Experience with protein analytical methods (SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting).
• Experience with cell culture techniques (culturing cancer cell lines, transwell invasion assay, wound healing scratch assay, soft colony agars, MTT cell proliferation assay, promoter study using dual luciferase assay, Lentiviral and Retroviral production using HEK393T cells).
• Experience with molecular biology techniques (cloning of promoter/UTR/shRNA and protein expression plasmids, bacterial transformation and primer designs for cloning and Real-time PCR gene expression studies).
• Responsible for laboratory day to day operation, preparation for the lab safety audit, liaison with vendors for quotations and procurement.
• Perform troubleshooting and optimization of the experimental protocols.
• Prepare materials for grants, presentations, and submission to peer-reviewed journal publications.
• Good teamwork resulted in 2 co-author publications and 1 first author publication in 4 years with the shortest manuscript revision done within 3 days.
