Ikigai: The Japanese secret to a long and happy life (7th September 2017) Written by: Hector Garcia - This was one of my favorite books as it has given me the idea of how to balance interests and career strategies I can differentiate from instead of confusing enjoyment and necessity for my own growth that can provide sustainability. Though we should be happy with what we do, we must ensure that there is balance when it comes to showing the drive and passion for what we desire or aspire to have. It is only with greed and the lack of understanding its purpose that leads to the lack of wanting to stay devoted and passionate to our dreams and ideal goals that we have prioritized.
Humankind A Hopeful History (13th May 2021) Written by: Rutger Bregman - This book took me a while to understand but it has allowed me to understand how humans in this day and age develop to be who they are now whether biologically or how they function as a society with societal norms formed with stereotyping and other methods of discrimination. These norms are also formed by peer pressure that remain as a strain and a worry for those who seek acceptance within society to experience a sense of belonging. The human evolution is great but how it has grown and developed with the norms with peer pressure has left a larger impact across the globe.
