As the Long Range Rifle Program Counselor at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation, I oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive shooting program focused on safety, skill development, and responsible firearm use. This role involves managing range operations, and mentoring scouts to cultivate their marksmanship and appreciation for outdoor activities.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing curriculum tailored to various skill levels, ensuring compliance with safety regulations provided by the NRA, and maintaining equipment and facilities. I also lead instructional workshops, supervise participants during live-fire exercises, and foster a positive learning environment that emphasizes teamwork and respect for nature.
In addition to the Long Range rogram management, I collaborate with camp leadership and staff to integrate the rifle program into the broader camping experience, promoting personal growth and leadership skills among participants.
