Contributions to quality improvement and innovation

1. Lower limb exercise class quality improvement project 2020 – bronze award

  • Initiated changes to the work processes of the Lower Limb Exercise Class service resulting in 1) improvement in competency and confidence of the conducting physiotherapists and 2) improvement in patient satisfaction towards the service
  • This was put forward as a quality improvement project for the CGH Quality Improvement Festival in 2020 and attained the bronze medal

2. Kaizen projects:

  • Developed video resource for shoulder manual handling (assessments and interventions) for Changi General Hospital outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy department in 2021
  • “Please turn over” tab for EQ5D questionnaire – this tab helped address the previous problem of patients being unaware to complete the reverse side of the questionnaire, which resulted in missing important information and additional time taken out from the physiotherapy consultation just to complete it (2023)
  • Step-by-step guide for junior on how they can access and complete their performance appraisal documents (2023)

3. Development of new work process between shoulder surgeons, appointment booking team and outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapists in Changi General Hospital resulting in patients being able to have their post-operative reviews with their surgeons and physiotherapists on the same day for their convenience (reduced number of hospital visits)
