Summary

Bhavna is currently a regional head for the Uber Eats APAC Delivery business. This involves leading strategy and product operations for critical delivery verticals including Marketplace, Driver and Customer and complex stakeholder management across the US and the APAC markets - Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan and Sri Lanka.

Prior to this, Bhavna launched and grew Uber Eats Sri Lanka, to be the fastest growing e-commerce businesses in the country. Uber Eats disrupted the Sri Lanka F&B industry, unlocking opportunities for communities through a number of crisis years while providing customers with unparalleled convenience. Bhavna is passionate about work which deals with complex business led problems and making change happen successfully.

Bhavna career started at PwC London, specialising in providing risk management and data advisory services to FTSE100 clients. This involved successfully growing and leading large teams in driving forward a strategy and delivering work for over twenty five large multinational companies in multiple industries.

Bhavna’s Chartered accounting qualification and Economics degree from London School of Economics provided a strong foundation by equipping providing technical expertise and discipline to perform in challenging environments.

Launching the Uber Eats business in Sri Lanka, transforming the food industry and creating opportunities across 6 cities in Sri Lanka:

• As employee #1, hired and grew a high performing and diverse team in Colombo

• P&L ownership to unlock exciting business wins while scaling responsibly

• Implementing processes and structure to enable high quality standards at scale, including novelty selection and a reliable experience

• Building the brand to quickly become a household name in Sri Lanka

• Driving initiatives such as Diviyata Diriya (meaning encouragement for life), to create entrepreneurship opportunities for females and other marginalised communities, which ultimately translated to unlocking financial independence for a large segment

• Driving rapid expansion across 6 cities to fast track opportunities for restaurant and courier partners during trying times for the country, through the Easter attacks, COVID and the financial crisis

• Launched grocery services a week into the first COVID lockdown, enabling access to essentials for communities in Sri Lanka

• Keeping the team motivated and focused through multiple crisis scenarios

• Carrying out continuous extensive research on the market to support targeted execution on a scalable launch plan

• Implementing controls to minimize risk across processes e.g. cash handling, restaurant and driver onboarding

• Utilizing data analytics to track progress of various projects and revenue streams

Streamlined multiple business processes and recommended control solutions for Telecommunications, Restaurant and Retail organizations by:

• Building comprehensive documentation to accurately capture the current state of the clients’ IT processes and controls

• Designing a target operating model and providing recommendations of controls that would mitigate the key risks identified

• Providing key insights to client top level management, by creating benchmarking analytics comparing the client to its peers in industry

Managed transformation projects in the leisure industry and one of the largest global charity organizations, gain increased clarity and transparency over its’ cash flow, revenue streams and funding requirements by:

• Capturing requirements of various stakeholders by understanding the challenges faced in each of the Strategic Business Units

• Overseeing and managing the creation of a target operating model design for each of the project streams, including finance processes (e.g. O2C), data and technology, governance and people and organization, while identifying and managing any stream interdependencies

• Creating a Financial information model (FIM) design and a governance framework around it, by utilizing data along with technical expertise

• Performing sensitivity analysis and stress testing of the design in numerous scenarios from each of the Business Units

• Reporting mechanisms to enable transparency and build trust across stakeholders, for more successful and effective change management

• Leading proposal meetings and projects in Canada, Germany and Austria, to sell and execute work while in PwC London
