  • Lead a team of 300+ staff to deliver quality (special) education, training and care to persons with autism across the lifespan.
  • Build a culture of serving leadership to ensure that staff Run to Great Purpose, Raise the Bar, Blaze the Trail, Build on Strengths and Upend the Pyramid, in order for optimal team effectiveness.
  • Oversaw financial management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation, ensuring sustainability of charity's finances while maximising social impact. Key achievement: restored Adult Services' financial model for sustainability and scaleability.
  • Oversaw the creation and maturing of the Development team to increase the resources of Time, Treasure, Talent, Ties and Testimony, to support SAAC's delivery of our mission. Over time, established key processes for Donor and Volunteer Management, Communications, Strategic Partnerships, Advocacy and Public Education.
  • Led leadership team in assessing key macro trends and landscape in Singapore's disability sector, informing strategic decisions that positioned SAAC to meet key needs.
  • Oversaw the development and clarification of Training Roadmaps for different segments of staff, in alignment with the building of a person-centred culture in SAAC.
  • Oversaw improvements in key HR systems and processes to improve organisational effectiveness, e.g. introduced values-driven, performance-based evaluation systems to drive values- and mission-alignment and performance.
  • Led the innovation efforts in SAAC, focussing on development of key new pilot programmes to address service gaps in the national landscape, e.g. supported employment for persons with moderate autism, creation of a Centre for Advocacy and Public Education.

  • Led a branch of policy, curriculum and support staff to catalyse the growth and development of Singapore's Special Education schools, to ensure the quality, accessibility and affordability of Special Education in Singapore.
  • Oversaw a revamp of the overall People strategy for Special Education, working with a consultant to introduce a competency framework, training roadmap and career structure for the sector. As part of the consultancy, an initial benchmarking of pay for SPED professionals was also undertaken.
  • Initiated the creation of curriculum guides for the various learning domains in SPED by unpacking the SPED Curriculum Framework, and organising teams to work with SPED schools to scope and sequence the possible learning objectives for each domain.
  • Worked with colleagues in the Planning and Infrastructure Divisions to project demand for SPED and revamp building specifications for various SPED school types to enhance both the quality and accessibility of SPED in the long run.
  • Worked with key partner National Institute of Education to revamp SPED teacher training.
  • Reviewed key governance levers, e.g. Joint Funding Agreements, to enhance the partnership between MOE and the Social Service Agencies running SPED schools.
  • Advocated for greater inclusion of students with special needs, for each student to be placed in the least restrictive but developmentally-sound environment for their education.
  • Oversaw the development of systems to enhance the posting of SPED students to ensure timely admissions.
  • Oversaw the organisation of the yearly national celebration of the development of the sector through the annual SPED Conference.
