BALACHANTHIRAN INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

•Responsible for handling service contracts for shutdown / preventive maintenance, ad-hoc service activities, after-sale service support and small-scale project / modification / upgradation works of various process industries including, oil & gas and petrochemicals plants, Singapore power generation and water treatment plants, pharmaceuticals and food & beverages. •Responsible for maintaining contact with all subcontractors and monitoring subcontractor progress.

•Determine customer issues and then research, diagnose and troubleshoot those issues while providing step-by-step instructions to customers.

Follow all standard procedures throughout the escalation of unresolved issues and refer those issues to the appropriate internal departments for resolution.

•Ensure proper recording of all issues and provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers, ensuring that all issues are closed at the end of discussions.

•Document all reports and ensure that they are timely and accurate, logging them in technical support databases for future reference.

•Participated in all aspects of projects: project/drawing planning and review, scalability, equipment review, startup/construction support, testing, calibrations and commissioning of various process control instruments.

•Prepared instrumentation and wiring diagrams, control schematics and the integration of hardware into operations. •Collaborate with engineers, operators and contractors to automate and improve quality, productivity and system reliability. •Reviewed the proposals and plans for projects and then worked with management to develop working plan for the proposals. •Assisted for analyzing damaged equipment and determining how to proceed with repairs.

•Preparing master data sheet for Preventive Maintenance schedule; ensuring safe and efficient performing of Corrective Maintenance.

•Spares balance investigation and inventory control for all instruments’ spare parts.

• Prepared preventive & corrective maintenance plans for restoring electrical and instrumentation equipment to normal operating condition in a minimum amount of time,
• Developed scopes defining improvement projects, alternative and cost-benefit analysis needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical and instrument equipment (Flow, Pressure, Temperature, level, sensors, etc.) problems, thus eliminating E&I issues.
• Managed engineering changes, maintenance workflow, and equipment documentation using SAP system
• Developed, reviewed, and maintained procedures for interlock devices, thus ensuring compliance with international organization (ISO) standard.

• Calibration and Maintenance of all Types of Switches like Limit Switch, Level Switch, Pressure Switch, and Flow Switch.
• Calibration, Installation, Loop checking, and Maintenance of all types of Transmitters like Pressure Transmitters, D/P Transmitters, Temperature Transmitters, Flow Transmitters, Level Transmitters.
• Calibration, Stroke checking, and Maintenance of all types of Control Valves, ON/OFF Valves, Solenoid Valves, MOVs.
• Knowledge of P&ID, Hook-Up diagram, Location diagram
