1. Set up racking and shelvings for cargos for easier access as opposed to the initial pallet system which creates more confusion during picking and locating of cargoes.
2. Constant review of work flow processes in order to improve efficiency.
3. Created data entry file for inbound and outbound data and cargo movement to determine future average cargo movement, especially during peak and non-peak period.
4. Initiating close cooperation and direct communication with forwarders on a management level to maximise efficiency and highlight issues which may arise. This includes close contact with freight forwarders, cargo agents, Fedex and DHL management staff. As such, any last minute changes by client can be swiftly attended and looked into.
5. Enforced a time window during which forwarders could deliver and/or collect cargo.
6. Enforced a cut off time to allow warehouse team to prepare cargo efficiently.
7. With client’s approval, we upgraded a certain aspect of receiving procedures from manual entry to barcode and QR scanning, minimising typing errors.
8. Initiated a weekly stock counting cycle and relocating of cargoes to alternative locations in order to maximise space, to which new locations will be updated on WMS system.
